ENGAGEMENT

A forum page to chat with your volunteers

For better facilitation of ongoing communications between volunteers and organisations, a forum page can be added on the websites of organisations such that volunteers have an avenue to provide their sentiments or feedback anytime.

Benefits of a forum page:

  1. It is a clear avenue for volunteers to get connected with your team to avoid any confusion or flooding of emails.

  2. Having a public page can allow other volunteers to find answers to common questions they have that were previously answered. In the long run, the forum can save up manpower and resources to address a volunteer’s concern.

Here is what you need for the maintenance of the forum page:

  1. Dedicate one staff or a rotation among a group of members to check the forum everyday in the initial stages. Checking the forum should take approximately thirty minutes and can be an end-of-the-day task to keep up with what is on-the-ground. As more questions get cleared and less are arriving, you can space the checking period to one to two weeks.

  2. Collate the feedback and sentiments that volunteers share onto another database for improvements and reflections.
