Provide opportunities for existing volunteers to explore other roles within the organisation. This could be done through a one-day switcheroo trial where volunteers from a particular role can try out another and from there, gain hands- on experience with the guidance of volunteers who are currently posted there.

Such an experience can answer questions that volunteers might have about the role. It provides benefits and more opportunities to engage with the current pool of volunteers, and gives them a chance to explore and enquire about different roles, ultimately find their calling. Most importantly, explain what skills they will learn for each role and magnify future prospects to entice them.
