Staying in touch with ex-volunteers
Convert that ‘See You!’ to a ‘See You Later!’ Volunteers have shared that despite ending their volunteer activities, they are still engaged in their organisation’s updates, hoping to be able to return one day. It is worthwhile to still engage these ex-volunteers to so that they never die.
Include one or two ex-volunteers for events such as volunteer appreciation nights to not only get them to share their sentiments to newer volunteers but also allow them to see how far the organisation has grown and progressed.
Share updates of service users to volunteers who have left as a way to nudge and remind them of the cause that they used to volunteer for passionately.
Create specially curated content or newsletters towards ex-volunteers. Content skewed to them will be angled more on things they have missed or using nostalgia to trigger their memories to return.
