BRANDING

Creating a familiar face

Ease your volunteers into your organisation by ensuring that they have a familiar face or main point-of-contact (POC) to identify at the start of their volunteer journey. This can be beneficial so that they would not feel lost or alone everytime they attend a session.

There are many ways a volunteer can identify their POCs:

  • POCs can set a clear profile picture when contacting their volunteers.

  • The same POCs should try to meet the volunteers physically during their first volunteering session and get to know them and guide them along.

  • If the POC will be a different person when the volunteer goes for his/her physical session, the original POC can set up an e-meeting over video call prior to the session to introduce them.

An alternative would be to let volunteers know the name of the POC and give them some identifiers so they know who to look for.

  • Example: Hi James! You can head to (location) on the day itself and look for Mary who will be wearing a purple uniform. She’s super friendly and if you are unsure of anything, feel free to ask her. You can also contact me if you need any help!
