Group Interviews

To save time and resources, you may also want to explore the option of group interviews to get to know your volunteers. Group interviews are good because it can be less intimitating for interviewees if they can do it with others, such as their peers, or other applicants. It helps to diffuse the spotlight from a single interviewee in one-to-one interviews to a shared limelight in group settings.

Another benefit of group interviews is that potential volunteers can get to know one another even before they start volunteering. This helps them have a familiar face as they go through later stages of interviews, trainings, inductions and eventually, the volunteering events, thus helping your organisation to build up a community naturally.
