ENGAGEMENT

Have a Hangout Spot for volunteers

To facilitate stronger ties among volunteers, SSAs can consider having ‘hangout spots’ within the facilities of the organisation. These ‘hangout spots’ can be study spots for youth volunteers. This sense of having a shared space allows volunteers to come together as a group and bond beyond volunteering hours.

You may even engage volunteers to build the space together if your organisation is looking to set one up. It gives them a sense of belonging and ownership of their own space.

We love this study space that Tzu Chi has created for their volunteers, even becoming a viral place for students in general to hang out in!
